Sometime, you might find the need to replace blanks in a Google Sheet with Zeroes. I had that need and found this helpful site. As Registrar for our volunteer-led Girl Scout Day Camp, I am responsible for collecting camp fees. I do this through PayPal. We send out Confirmation Emails with all sorts of information including the balance due. The spreadsheet I download from PayPal has blanks in the Amount Due field so I wanted to make sure parents and guardians new that the balance was zero. I used this little trick, and all is good!
The steps are:
- Press Ctrl-H to quickly access Find and Replace.
- Type ^\s*$ in the Find box.
- Type 0 in the Replace box.
- Check the Match Case and Search Using Regular Expressions boxes.
- Click the Replace All button.
Now, it is much more clear that my Amount Due is Zero, and not just something that was forgotten.
