Take Career Assessment
This feature has two options: Quick Start Assessment (6 questions) and Detailed Assessment (60 questions) that will help you see options of careers that might interest you. It is well worth your time to take both.
Once you have some career choice ideas or if you already know what career(s) you would like to pursue, you can browse for more information about the career including job availability in your area and find educational opportunities to ready yourself to pursue that career.
Build Your Résumé
This is, by far, my favorite feature! You don’t need to sign in to create a free account, but doing so allows you to keep the progress on your résumé on this site for later revisions. It guides you through the résumé building process and gives you transferrable skills to use. Using this feature, I once helped a student come up with transferrable skills as he moved from a job sweeping floors at a meat-packing plant to a career in Information Technology. You can download your résumé and open it in Word for further formatting options. The downloadable version right from Career Coach is sometimes just what you need for upload to an online job application.
This is a site worth visiting and revisiting throughout your career.
