Well, today I hired Designing Digitally to give us a jump start on our EICCD Virtual Campus in Second Life. The design team at Designing Digitally is going to design a futuristic building for our main presence, provide a landing point for us and give us a beach to play on!
From that point, we will allow our campus builders free reign to customize their spot on the island. We want to have a sandbox area for our visitors, too.
Designing Digitally has set us up in their project management software so that we can see when tasks are completed. This is an exciting process. Should have something to showcase very soon. What I need to figure out is how to give searchable, teleportable access to the island. So far, that has eluded me. I can invite someone to the island, and if they set a landmark, they can return to it. Back to the web and the books to figure out how to do this!
