I went to a conference last Spring and saw OpenCroquet. Thought it was interesting, but a lot of work. At the time, they mentioned Second Life. I didn’t pay a lot of attention to it — thinking someday. Well someday is today. I was assigned to teach a course called “Intro to Game Development.” After playing with Multimedia Fusion, The 3D Game Maker, 2D and 3D graphic creation programs (Photoshop, Google Sketchup, Milkshape); we moved on into discussion MMOG — and Second Life. Second Life is really not a game, but an MUVE — Multi-user Virtual Environment. It is more social and relies on user creation of content much like the Sims games.<\/p>\n
