I found a great YouTube video from Inside this World about their Holodeck.\u00a0 That looks pretty neat for developing my project —\u00a0 I will need to purchase the Production model for this.\u00a0 As I was experimenting with the Demo Holodeck located in a skybox above our virtual campus, I inadvertently changed the main teleport for the entire island!\u00a0 Whoooopppppssss!!\u00a0<\/p>\n
My project is taking shape as I am gathering more tools and more talents.\u00a0 I am focusing on developing an immersive learning environment to help students learn the OSI model.\u00a0 The aspects I hope to enhance include:<\/p>\n
General knowledge of what happens at each layer
Putting components in the correct layer
Cabling — 568A\/B standards, types of cables
Troubleshooting – why do I need to learn this stuff?
Relationship between the OSI Model and the TCP\/IP Model<\/p>\n

Got a Demo Holodeck and put it in a skybox
Researched other types of Holodecks, and realize I probably need to build my own or buy the Productional
I purchased some educational tools, one of which is the Big Quiz Rezzer from Eloise Pasteur.\u00a0 With this tool, I was able to upload some PowerPoint slides for the Quiz, but they took so long to load. Last night my fellow classmates suggested there was a script that allowed this to load better – a sequence thing.\u00a0 I need to find out more about that.<\/p>\n
Here are things that I am currently looking for to complete my project:
1.\u00a0 Script — or solution to solve the rezzing problem on my PowerPoint slides
2.\u00a0 Tracker box — we looked at these last week in class, I just need to see if what I got works for my needs
3.\u00a0 Comment box — noticed they had them in the ICT Library, need to see if they are available for purchase or free at the library or elsewhere
4.\u00a0 Some sort of matching game
5.\u00a0 Some sort of sequencing game
6.\u00a0 Can you have learners move objects into spaces\/places and determine if the correct objects are moved there?\u00a0 How?
7.\u00a0 Can you embed Flash into SL somehow (I am thinking not, but need to figure that out – I can always go out to the web for some type of Flash interaction)
8.\u00a0 Get streaming video to work on our island.
9.\u00a0 How do you get things to appear in the right-click menu?\u00a0 Buy? Teleport? Ride? Enter\/Go Inside?
10.\u00a0 How do you directly click on an object and teleport without using the right-click menu — I’m sure it is a script just need to check it out.<\/p>\n
