I hate to admit it, but I have been kind of a hermit in Second Life. I know, it is supposed to be immersive and social and interactive with other avatars. My problem has been that I have good computer access around 4am CST. I find that there aren’t as many people on Second Life at that time! Well, I have had an interactive, 3-hour session today; and it was great. When the presenter explained that some people didn’t have avatars yet, and it would be an introductory session — I decided just to go try building and playing with that holodeck. While I did that a bit, I was really drawn to interacting with people, too! This same thing happened at the scripting class last week when we were working on a slide show presentation that we build ourselves. I also learned some new things, too.<\/p>\n

When your avatar is doing something (like laying on the floor reading), others might just see it standing there!\u00a0 That really brought the client\/server aspect in focus for me.<\/p>\n
I really need to take a look at Moodle and Sloodle again. \u00a0 Sloodle has classroom gestures in a HUD.<\/p>\n
Edunation II is a pretty cool place!<\/p>\n
