SnagIT9

Think of SnagIT as the best way to capture things on your screen — a much better alternative to the Alt-Print Screen key combination.

I have been a user of SnagIT and am currently using version 5.0.  I believe that newer is not always better, and that you need to find a balance between feature upgrades and the cost of those upgrades.  After all, software companies are in business to make money — not just useful tools.  Well, I hesitated in upgrading my SnagIT because I truly love the one I am using, and didn’t see any great advantage to make the switch to the latest, greatest version.  Well, I needed SnagIT on a new machine so I decided to check out the latest version trial download.  I fell instantly into the new groove of this software!  First of all, the biggest and most welcomed change for me was the fact that you could continue to “snag” screen captures without having to process each one individually.  SnagIT9 keeps them in a catalog then you have a multitude of ways to process them.  I will enjoy my 30-day free trial, but I already know that I’ll be upgrading to this new version.

Piano for three

Piano for three. It was so wonderful to take piano lessons with my two daughters this past weekend.  We all signed up for piano lessons, and are having a wonderful time learning together.  We each have our own private lessons.  While one daughter is having her lesson; my other daughter and I read, draw, or do homework.  Then we switch places.  My oldest daughter does her homework or reads while I’m in my lesson.  This week, she was also looking for a Christmas song book during that time.  I think we have a winner here!

Suny Hosts Demo with Eloise Pasteur

Filed Under Second Life | Leave a Comment

Crash Thibaud from Monroe Community College invited me to attend a demo of Instructional Tools for Second Life created by Eloise Pasteur. Here are some of the things she demonstrated:

Not-yet-released: Histogram plotter — she used Google stocks as an example — Crash typed in the stock code and the Histogram “scraped” the web and came back with a histogram depicting its performance!

Another neat thing was the MistiTool Dynatable 1.4 which rezzed chairs around a table as you needed them! It was great!

I need to get back to the Suny Island to check out the changing of music at the MCC area.

I purchased the Big Quiz Rezzer, Spider Datagram, and Cattle Puppy Viewer.  Can’t seem to get the Cattle Puppy Viewer to work.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated — it sounds like such a neat tool — just what I am looking for!
