Send — Don’t Send
Filed Under Technology | Leave a Comment
Do you ever get those messages when something has gone wrong with your computer and it asks you whether to send or not send a report to Microsoft? Well, I guess I had a real “dilly” today. When I first booted the computer, it came up with a nasty blue screen with Dos-like text on it explaining that there was a serious problem from which the computer was trying to recover. It then asked me the Send-Don’t Send question, to which I replied Send. I have often wondered if this just goes to the big bit-bucket in the sky or it is just something that Microsoft does to make us feel like we have a voice, and that what we do might actually make an improvement. Well, this time — my first time ever — I was thrown to a web page that explained why I got the error I did! It seems that there was something wrong with the DLA (drive-letter association) with my Sonic driver. It referred me to the Sonic Website. Well, maybe they do actually listen and try to help us with our problems.
Simple Living

We have started a book club that will be discussing the Simple Living book by Levering and Urbanska. It seems ironic that we are going to be “discussing” it via an online discussion group. I have made this post so that others might share their thoughts on the contents of the book or just insights on paring down, discovering what is important in life, and living simply!

I Bought an Island

… a virtual island that is! I wanted to “work the float” for my credit card and provide the maximum amount of time to build our Virtual Campus in Second Life so TODAY I purchased the island. They say it will take 10-15 business days to process and they won’t charge my credit card until I do. I did do a Live Chat with a billing person to make sure that I would have the correct documentation for reimbursement! I guess I am paranoid! I will be posting the process of building the island here. Stay tuned!
